By law, existing and new photovoltaic solar systems need to be registered with the City of Cape Town as of 1 May 2019.
This means that all installations need to comply with city regulations – small scale embedded generation (see guideline document here)
In order to be compliant, they must be signed off by a certified electrical engineer.
